## Advocate Report

- Absence of Financial Secretary
  - Treasurer and other officers have additional responsibilities now
  - Financial Secretary cannot have anything to do with insurance
  - New FS needs to be approved by GK and trustees, and is position for 3 years
  - No candidates
- Exemplifications
   - 1st-3rd degrees - October 22nd, St Ignatius after the 5:15pm Mass
   - 3 members of our council going for their degrees

   - St. John Newman Assembly - October 19th SJE conclave at 7:30pm
   - 4th Degree only

## Charity Committee Report
*Brother John Eidenhofer*
1. Special Olympics $2,000 (Brother Lou Penge)
- 1st reading
- celebrate the worth and dignity of every human being
- recipient is Knights of Columbus (part of the Life initiative)
- Brother Lou has experience as a meet coordinator for Special Olympics in the 70s
- State has it so that it will come back to the local

## Program Committee Report

1. Baptisms (Brother John Perdoch)
   - 2 baptisms already happened (1st Sunday)
   - 2 baptisms coming up (3rd Sunday)
2. Football Sweepstakes Recap (Brother Chris Mazzeo)
   - sold all 200 tickets
   - $600 staying with our council
   - maybe get 400 tickets next year
3. Baby Bottle Drive (Brother Chris Mazzeo)
   - envelopes now instead of baby bottles
   need knights to volunteer for (contact brother chris for this)
   - handing out envelopes this weekend
   - collecting the envelopes next weekend
4. Adopt-a-Family (Brother Jim Coyle absent, so Brother John Perdoch)
   - signup is for both Thanksgiving and Christmas
   - October 22nd/23rd signups
   - October 29th/30th signups
   - then collecting food in November weekends
For the before/after Mass, District Deputy made good pitch for brothers to help (we should all be at Mass anyway, and it helps the organizers)

## Golf Committee Report
*Brother Len Kuchera*
- Event is always the last Monday in September
- 140 golfers, 160 people at dinner
- Makefield highlands this time
- Event was great, successful
- Exceeded the goal
- Final total not ready yet (money still coming in)
- Thanks for the volunteers
- We will need more help/volunteers for next year

- Mass books opening up (from Brother John Eidenhoffer, GK will follow up on this)
- COAL (chance of a lifetime) raffle coming up (from Brother John Bowan)
- Essay contest for children in grades 8th-12th (information on state website) (from Brother John Perdoch)
- Brother Bill Russell told us that something on the news said that the price of turkey will be double this year
- Brother Cary Yonce challenged us to think about what more we can do to bring others to Christ (or the council)
- ask someone to help for the before/after Mass things
